When I brought Jerry my yellow (almost white) lab I was in way over my head. I had read the books, watched the videos, and tried everything else I could think of to train my dog on my own. Jerry evaluated Roseaux that first day and told me I had nothing to worry about, he had seen much worse. After Roseaux completed the basic retriever program I was very anxious on opening morning of the 2008-2009 duck season. I knew Roseaux was good during training but this was the real deal. As I sat in the blind nervously waiting for legal shooting time I took some friendly jokes from my brother and cousin about what I was gonna do if my dog didn't go get any ducks. Well after Roseaux retrieved 13 of 14 on that day ( I didn't send Ro for one that sailed into the next pond) the only thing I here are requests to bring Roseaux hunting when I can't make it. Jerry thank you for making this past duck season one of the best ever. My only regret is not getting a dog sooner.

I called many trainers before I decided on Southern Tradition, none of them seemed to have time for my questions, but Jerry did. I made the best decision for me and my dog. We are now participating in Hunt Test and on our way to a Junior Title. Thanks Jerry!

He takes the time needed with every dog. When you tell him you want a dog for duck hunting, he gives you what you ask for.

We called Mr. Jerry to ask him questions before putting our Lab into this program. He answered all questions and concerns I had. Once in the training he kept us up to date on the progress. When we went for visits we noticed a huge/ good difference in our dog. Then he gave us instructions to bring home to continue the training. He has kept in contact and continues to answer any questions we have. We are pleased with the results that we continue to see. Thanks,

I just wanted to send you and email to tell you thanks for all of your hard work with Bo and Koda. I know we just got them back Saturday but I can surely tell the difference in them already. On Saturday afternoon we took them for a long walk and then let them run loose for some play time. It was funny that even though we told them to go play Bo continued to walk along side Grant. Koda did almost the same thing. It seems like Koda may still be a little upset with us. We took them out again yesterday for a long walk and play time and sat with them in the yard. Bo did great and would lay down next to us. Koda would lay down but if we got up to go sit by him he would move. We will continue to work with them but I’m so excited already. Thanks again for all of your help. I will definitely recommend you to all of my friends. Our neighbors came over to see them and wanted to know what we did to them because they’ve never seen them like this. They wanted to know if we gave them nerve pills.. lol
Thanks again,
Nicole

He had my Golden Retriever there for 8 weeks or so. I was able to go over on saturday's and work with him and he was better with the sit command and walking on a leash. He had started working with him on stay, but didn't seem to get very far into it. I had to take my dog out of his class due to hurricane Gustav and decided not to return for our final two weeks of training. Was not please with the results when we got him home. I have been working with him at home and making very small process. I just feel if someone is going to pay that amount of money then should get more in return that what i received. Even with us missing those final two weeks he would not have gotten what was guaranteed to us. all command were to be taught on and off leash. Just letting you know my feelings. for his benefit i did see dogs there that were very well trained and am sure they had much more put into them than what we did. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and enjoy your personal "mans best friend."

Three weeks into the second split she has picked up 90 birds. She has come a long ways since I got her from Jerry. Thanks to Jerry walking me through the steps on training Pebbles has taken to this extremely well. My younger brother keeps telling me if you think she is good now just wait another year or two. Thanks Jerry for all the help from me and Pebbles. I will try to get some pictures in the field. It's kinda hard with the rain that we have had the last few weeks.

Drake just came home from your Basic Retriever Program and WOW. This dog is a machine. In the field, I can't swim and/or run him enough, his conditioning is incredible. In the house, he knows his role and place. It's like he has a hunting/home switch.
You have created a monster, his marks are insane, and his obedience is impeccable. My wife and 7 year old son can handle him.
I'm very, very pleased with Drake and your Basic course. I will continue and strongly recommended you to others.

I want to thank you for accepting Drake for training. I called a few trainers and they were not real receptive to training a Chesapeake. A few just flat out refused. When we spoke the first time, I was comfortable with your knowledge. When I first brought Drake to you and you just talked to him, and then walked him, he was night and day. Your clients are fortunate to have a trainer like you. What I've seen so far is impressive. Keep up the excellent work, and I can't wait to see the final product.
Scott
P.S. What you whispered in his ear, does that work on wives too? Just had to ask.

What I like about your training is that you really care about the dogs well being while you are training them. The commands you give are very simple to learn which makes it easy for the owner to take over in no time at all. I am excited about the next duck season & can't wait to see my dog work after the advance training. I know it will a lot of fun watching. Thanks Jerry,

Beau had a pretty good year, I had a little trouble withhim being still and not listening. Mostly my fault for not working on obedience with him like I should have. Told Jerry about the problem and he dropped what he was doing to make a hunt with me and see what we could do to fix the problem. The dog needs obedience training everyday is what we came up with. He did pick up his fair share of birds though. I cant wait to gewt with Jerry and do some more training this off season. So in closing the dog has plenty potential and with Jerry's help next year should be great. If anyone wants to know anything about STDT than shoot me an e-mail and I will be glad to tell you about my experience which has been great.

My neighbor has a mixed lab that listens better than my kids. I always wanted a dog like that. At wits end, I researched dog training companies. Of all that I spoke with, I was very comfortable with Jerry. My chocolate lab Allie, which is not a hunting dog just the family pet I always wanted, began her training and was missed. I remember MY first training lesson with Jerry and Allie and couldn't believe that was my dog! Still a little scepticle I figured Jerry brought someone else's dog to impress me. Not true, it was Allie and I couldn't believe my eyes. The basic obedience training was worth the time missed with Allie and the money. Allie and I have become even closer since the obedience training. Now she is always by my side and I can go anywhere with her and she is always by my side. Yes without a leash. To me, walking in the neighborhood with your dog is great and even better when you don't have to worry if she is on a leash or not. I fish a lot and just the obedience training alone has helped with taking Allie with me. Thanks Jerry.

Name: Bennet Dugas E-mail: benandnet@cox.net Date posted: June 04, 2009 - 06:59 am Message: Just wanted to let everyone know just how much Jerry has helped me with my dog Pebbles. When I run into a problem or I am not sure how to proceed, I e-mail or call Jerry and he walks me through the steps. Brought Pebbles on her first hunt for teal. She made a double retrieve first time out on two teal my son shot on the water. She picked up the first, and brought it back to hand, and as I called for her to sit next to me, she took off back to the decoys. To my surprise she came back with the second duck. A little later I knocked one down that she did not see, and I sent her on a line, but she stopped at the decoys and started hunting. I walked about 20 feet and called her back and put her on line again. This time she ran through the decoys and about ten feet below the bird got the scent picked it up and brought it to hand. We have not worked on blind retrieves yet. Have started marked doubles. Jerry has been great at explaining what I should do. Pebbles and I are learning together. I made the correct choice going with Jerry STDT. I appreciate all the help, and I always keep Jerry updated on Pebbles progress. Thanks, BDugas
